TECHNIQUES
Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapy includes techniques to relief symptoms, joint mobilization techniques, soft-tissue and neural-tissue mobilization techniques, specialized exercise techniques, self-training techniques, etc.
Among all these techniques we can highlight the following, because they are perhaps the most characteristic: joint mobilizations, manipulations, stretching and self-stretching, functional massage, or specialized therapeutic exercise.
The Elastic therapeutic tape, also called Kinesiology tape, consists of strips of colors that have an elasticity very similar to that of human skin. They must be placed by a professional in a specific way, according to the objective to be achieved. In general, it is usually used to:
– Alleviate Pains
– Reduce Inflammation
– Improve muscle tone
– Contribute to the recovery of an injury
– Encourage adequate blood and lymphatic circulation
– Stabilize the joints
– Help correct posture
– Improve fascia health
– Prevent injuries, etc.
What is dry needling?
Dry needling is a physiotherapy technique that involves the use of a dry needle on trigger points or muscle nodules (knots of muscle contraction), with the aim of treating myofascial pain syndrome.
It is a Invasive Physiotherapy technique since no substance is introduced into the body. Within this technique we can find two types: superficial (it does not reach the trigger point) and deep (the needle crosses the trigger point)
The objective of the technique is to unlock the trigger point and relax the muscle.
What effect does this technique have on my damaged muscle?
Thanks to the dry needling, the fibers of the damaged muscle relax and unblock. The muscle regenerates more quickly and we relieve pain between 20-25% immediately. This technique can be used in cases of trauma, overload, muscle contractures, muscle fatigue, cervical pain, dorsal pain and back pain among others.
